PRIVACY POLICY

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Account Information: If you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication data.

Voice and Diary Data: Your voice recordings, transcripts, and AI-generated reflections are stored to provide the core journaling experience.

Usage Data: We collect anonymous usage statistics such as app opens, recordings started, and feature usage to understand how people use Offtape and improve the experience.

Purchase Information: If you subscribe, your purchase history is processed by Apple (iOS) or Stripe (web) and our subscription management provider (RevenueCat). We receive subscription status and transaction identifiers but never your payment card details.

2. HOW WE PROCESS YOUR VOICE

Your audio is sent to OpenAI Whisper for transcription and Anthropic Claude for reflection. These processors handle your data under their respective data processing agreements and do not use it for model training. Audio and transcripts are stored in your account on Supabase in the EU (eu-central-1).

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your information to provide and improve the App, personalise your experience, manage your subscription, and communicate with you about service updates. We do not sell your data. Ever.

4. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

All user data is stored on Supabase (EU region, Frankfurt). Audio files are stored in Supabase Storage. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

5. DATA RETENTION

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings. You can also export all your data before deletion.

6. YOUR RIGHTS (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to processing of your data
• Restrict processing of your data
• Request data portability
• Withdraw consent at any time

7. COOKIES AND ANALYTICS

Product analytics (always active): We use PostHog (EU) for anonymous usage analytics: sign-ups, recordings started, pipeline events, and paywall views. We use Sentry (EU) for crash and error reporting. We never send your transcript, reflection text, audio recordings, or any diary content to analytics or error tracking services.

Marketing measurement (consent required): With your consent, we use the Meta pixel and Meta Conversions API to measure which advertising campaigns help people find Offtape. This uses aggregate and privacy-preserving methods. We do not build advertising profiles about you or share your personal data with advertisers. You can grant or withdraw marketing consent at any time in Settings. Without consent, no marketing cookies or tracking pixels are loaded.

8. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

We use the following services to operate Offtape:

• Supabase (EU) — authentication, database, file storage
• ElevenLabs (Scribe v2) — speech-to-text transcription
• Anthropic (Claude) — AI reflection generation
• Stripe — payment processing (web subscriptions)
• Apple — payment processing (iOS subscriptions)
• RevenueCat — subscription management
• PostHog (EU) — anonymous product analytics
• Sentry (EU) — error and crash reporting
• Meta — advertising measurement (consent-gated, no diary content)
• Vercel — hosting and API infrastructure

Each third-party service processes data under their own privacy policy. We choose services that meet EU data protection standards where possible.

9. PAYMENTS AND SUBSCRIPTIONS

Subscription payments are processed by Stripe (web) or Apple (iOS) via RevenueCat. We store your subscription status and billing period but do not store full payment card details.

10. CHILDREN

Offtape is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

11. CHANGES TO PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
